Months
Learning months in Japanese is as easy as counting 1 to 12. All you need to do is add "gatsu" to each number.

月 がつ げつ つき Gatsu and getsu and tsuki all mean "month", but are used differently. Gatsu As you have just learned, gatsu is used to state the months of the year. Getsu Getsu is used as the general term for "month" as in "this month", "next month" etc. It is also used to express periods of time . For example, 3 months in Japanese is "Sanka getsu" 三ヶ月. Getsu also means moon. "Mangetsu" is full moon. Tsuki Tsuki is the common term for moon. It is used also to mean month. For example, "maitsuki" means "every month". |

| 月々10万円支払います | つきづきじゅうまんえんしはらいます | I pay 100,000 Yen each month. |
